Just had a message from Chris in Sri Lanka. He's on a Rotary project helping to equip schools with computer equipment. It's been a very rewarding experience, and hopefully it has helped the kids too, but soon it will be time to return to the UK. Tell us more about your experiences,Chris, & we'll look forward to seeing you back here at FF in the autumn.

Sometimes the life of pyrotechnics seems so exciting you wnat a break from it all. A break in Sri Lanka might conjure up pictures of sandy palm-fringed beaches and a galss of beer never far away. Since February 8th I seemed to have missed the idyllic scene, as the work here has been heavy going most of the time. Outside of the resort havens Sri Lanka is a troubled country where war (in the North) and poverty (nearly everywhere)affects daily life a lot.
Hopefully the Rotary work I've been involved with here of helping improve things for the young people here has made a difference.
But the smell of recently fired mortar tubes beckons ...
